Frequent abdominal pain, cancer?
This all started around mid December. I noticed I wasn’t having as much of an appetite as I usually do. I had some constipation, so I decided to eat more vegetables and healthier foods in general and that sort of helped. But on January 21, I woke up and felt fine, but about 10 minutes later I started feeling very nauseous, that went away, then the pain actually shifted to my lower abdomen. It felt crampy, almost like I was going to have diarrhea. And ever since then, I have had this gnawing lower right pain. My bowel habits are changing from day to day, but they were already like that for as long as I can remember. I can pinpoint where it is most of the time. But lately it has been moving around my lower right abdomen altogether. Like now it is moving to just to the left of my right hip. I also have some pain right under my right abdomen. I immediately thought it was appendicitis, but I have had this for a little over 2 weeks. I am definitely going to the doctors about this. I also noticed that just to the left of my right abdomen, I can’t tell if there is a bump there or not. I am very skinny, (always have been) and when I feel just next to my right hip, I can feel something, but it’s not a round bump or anything, it just feels larger than the left side. But that same feeling is on my left side as well. I have also have back pain, and right leg pain. I’m really scared because I told my mom what’s been going on and for the first time she actually sounds worried. Not that she was never worried before, but it’s almost like she thinks something might be really wrong with me. I’m 19 years old and male, please help me.

You’re very young for it to be colon cancer (I was 46 and considered young), but there are many different diseases that can mimic it. I was having alternating diarrhea and constipation, with narrow stools at times. I’ve not heard of back or leg problems, but it may be that because your back hurts, you are favoring one leg, causing the leg pain. You need to consult a gastroenterologist and schedule a colonoscopy–this will give you an answer as to exactly what is happening, if it does involve your colon. Good luck to you.
